Every now and then you might stumble across a site that has used layout boxes where they are actually stretching and breaking apart on your hi-res monitor. Or you may have decided to make your own layout boxes manually only to have to change layout later and learn just how hard it is to re-align the whole layout.
Well over time I have perfected my own version of CSS boxes that are incredibly versatile and are useful for liquid layout design. You can contain them in a fixed size, you can make them small - very small, or you can make them so they stretch infinitely in both directions. Even better, you can do it by simply wrapping your content in a start and end include (two lines of code). This is what I consider the holy grail of CSS boxes. Best of all it will work across any browser without the need for any browser detection.
It's amazing how many people who I talk to who just love the taste of a Weber roast, but if asked if they'd ever be interested in having a go at it they look at you like you've just asked them to have a crack at bomb disposal.
